Product Description

SPF 2x8x6 (nominal 2 in × 8 in × 6 ft; actual ≈ 1.5 in × 7.25 in × 6 ft) is Spruce‑Pine‑Fir dimensional framing lumber commonly sold kiln‑dried and graded #2 (or #2 & Better). It’s specified and marketed by major Pacific‑Northwest/Canadian mills for structural framing, rafters, rim boards and general carpentry because of a favorable strength‑to‑weight ratio and good dimensional stability; it is routinely available in short lengths (6 ft) through mill/wholesale channels and sold in longer retail lengths by big‑box dealers. Suggested competitive local resale guidance for Dayton, IA (ZIP 50530): list at about $7.75 each (aim $7.50–$8.00 each to move inventory quickly) — this recommendation is based on normalized retail prices for SPF 2x8 from national retailers (see sources) and manufacturer product specs for nominal/actual dimensions and available lengths.
