Product Description

Pressure-treated 2x6x8 board — nominally 2 in. x 6 in. x 8 ft (typical actual dimensions ~1.5 in x 5.5 in x 8 ft) — commonly sold as a single board (each). Typical inventory listings show #2 / #2 Prime Southern Yellow Pine, available in ground-contact and above-ground treatment levels, treated to resist rot, decay and termites and often including a water-repellent additive; recommended uses include deck joists, beams, framing exposed to weather, landscaping and other outdoor projects. Based on current retail listings serving Iowa (Menards, K&K Hardware, Autumn Lane, Lowe’s/Home Depot), new retail prices observed in the region fall roughly in the $6–$9 per-board range; a competitive local resale price for Dayton, IA (ZIP 50530) would be about $7.75 per board (each) to be attractive against nearby retail while leaving room for margin and handling.
