Product Description

Adjustable/standoff metal post base for nominal 4x4 (1-1/2" x 3-1/2" nominal) lumber—designed to secure a 4x4 post to existing concrete or to a retrofit installation. Commonly sold in Simpson Strong‑Tie AB/ABA/ABU/ABW 4x4 variants, these connectors are typically 16‑gauge steel with a ZMAX (triple‑zinc) or galvanized finish, provide a ~1" standoff to reduce end‑grain moisture/rot, are slotted for anchor adjustability, fasten to cured concrete with a 1/2" anchor or Titen®‑style concrete screw, and attach to the wood post with nails or SD connector screws.
