Heavy-duty horse mud brush — wood-backed, oval "western" style with a hand strap — built to break up and remove dried mud, caked dirt and loose hair. Available with firm natural Palmyra (oiled palm fiber) or dense natural/pig bristles and with stiff synthetic polypropylene/rice-root style bristles; common catalog sizes are roughly 7–7.5 inches long for full-size mud brushes (pony/hand-sized variants are smaller). Bristle lengths and construction vary by model (firm Palmyra or 2" synthetic rice-root style bristles are commonly used on mud-cutting brushes), and units are sold individually. Recommended use: barn/ranch cleanup, pre-show preparation, and everyday grooming where a firm, hand-strapped oval brush is required.
