Simpson Strong‑Tie H1A Hurricane Tie — 4 in. H x 4 in. W, 18‑gauge galvanized steel U‑shaped connector designed to tie a nominal 2x rafter or truss to the wall top plate and resist uplift and lateral loads. The H1A is the next‑generation replacement for the classic H1, with embossments for added stiffness and an updated fastener pattern that installs with 1½" nails (fewer/shorter nails than the original H1). It is sold new both as single pieces and in trade packs (commonly 100‑packs).
