Product Description

Representative small feeder hay net: single-unit slow-feed hay net made from knotted nylon/poly rope mesh with small-hole (commonly ~1.5" knot-to-knot) openings to slow intake and reduce waste. Typical small-hole versions are offered in a ~42" diameter size that retailers list as fitting about 2–4 flakes (square-bale flakes) or a muck bucket for easy filling, and are marketed for trailer or stall use. Manufacturers and retailers consistently advise hanging or mounting the net securely to avoid entanglement and to use caution with halters or horned animals. Based on current US retail listings (see sources below), typical street prices for comparable small-hole 42" hay nets range roughly from about $19–$25; a competitive local resale price for Dayton, IA 50530 would be $21.00 each (reasonable local range $18.00–$25.00 each).
