Product Description

Rolled straw erosion-control mat (aka straw blanket) made from natural wheat straw fibers held with a degradable netting (polypropylene or jute) and supplied as a single roll for temporary soil stabilization, seed protection and slope protection. Common commercial roll sizes are 4 ft. x ~112 ft. and 8 ft. x 112.5 ft.; products are offered as single-net (shorter service life) or double-net (heavier-duty) constructions, installed with staples/pins and intended to encourage seed germination while minimizing runoff. Materials and net types vary by manufacturer; many listings note the product is biodegradable over months to a year depending on conditions.
