Triple-ply 2x6 agricultural laminated column (nominal 2 x 6 x 18') is a factory-assembled column made from three 2x6 members mechanically (nails/rivets) or adhesively laminated for use as vertical post-frame/pole-building support. Typical finished (actual) dimensions are approximately 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" by 18' and manufacturers commonly supply the lower portion in pressure treatment (Menards notes columns 20' and shorter will be fully treated or have a minimum treated lower section), with straightened/planed faces and optional notches or bearing blocks for truss connections. These laminated columns are sold by pole‑building and lumber suppliers as a straighter, stronger alternative to rough sawn posts for barns, sheds and agricultural outbuildings.
